YOUR GOD SELF
The Version of You That Was Never Broken
At some point, if you are honest with yourself, you have felt it.
Not a crisis. Not a breakdown. Something quieter. A feeling that sneaks up on you in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday, in the middle of doing everything right, hitting every mark, being exactly who you were told to be. And it asks a question you were never given permission to ask:
Why does this feel like someone else’s life?
Not because something is wrong with you. Because something is right with you. Because underneath the schedule and the performance and the path that made sense on paper, there is a version of you that has never once believed the blueprint you have been executing. A version that knew, before anyone had the chance to tell you differently, exactly what it was and exactly what it was here to do. It has been waiting, not desperately, not impatiently, but with the quiet confidence of something that knows it cannot be permanently ignored, for you to stop building someone else’s life long enough to start building your own.
I know this because I lived it. I had the six-figure engineering career. The credentials. The path that checked every box and felt hollow in the body. Not because the work was bad. Because it was not mine. I had built a life that looked exactly right from the outside and felt borrowed from the inside. The day I stopped executing the blueprint long enough to question it was the day everything changed.
This paper is about what I found when I questioned it. About the systems that were running the blueprint. About the version of you those systems were specifically designed to keep you from remembering. And about why that version, your God Self, the one that was never broken, the one that has been running underneath everything you have been told you are, is more available to you right now than it has ever been.
“The life someone else created for you will always feel like a borrowed coat. Fits okay. Keeps you warm enough. But you will always know it is not yours. And somewhere underneath it, your real one has been waiting the whole time.”
Part One: The World That Is Possible
Your God Self: The Version of You That Was Never Broken
I want to tell you about a world that does not exist yet. Not fully. But it is closer than most people alive today have been given permission to believe.
It is the world that becomes possible when enough people stop executing someone else’s blueprint and start living from their God Self. Not a religious concept. Not a self-help buzzword. The most precise description available for the version of you that has never been damaged by any system, any relationship, any failure, or any story anyone has ever told you about who you are and what you are worth. The version underneath all of that. The one that was running before the programming started. The one that is running right now, underneath everything.
That version of you is not broken. Has never been broken. Cannot be broken. It is the part of you made of the same intelligence that made the universe. And the universe has been creating without interruption since the beginning of time. That is what you are made of. That is what you have access to. That is what the systems were specifically designed to make you forget.
The world I am working toward is one where enough people remember this, really remember it in their bodies and not just in their belief systems, that the way we treat each other, the systems we build, the lives we choose, the work we do all shift. Not through legislation. Not through revolution. Through the simple, radical, world-altering act of enough people deciding to live from who they actually are instead of the code they were installed with.
A Word on Oneness
When I talk about oneness and harmony, I need to be precise about what I mean. Because these words have been used to sell two completely different visions of the future.
One version uses the language of unity to justify control. It wants you dependent. It wants your individuality erased into compliance. It wants a centralized authority deciding what harmony looks like for everyone. That version of oneness requires you to surrender your sovereignty to access belonging. It is not oneness. It is a cage with better branding.
That is not what I am describing.
The oneness I am pointing toward is the recognition that we are each individual expressions of the same consciousness. The wave does not disappear into the ocean. It becomes more fully a wave by remembering it is made of the same thing. Your uniqueness, your individual sovereignty, your specific irreplaceable expression of life is not the obstacle to connection. It is the point of it. A world of people living from their God Self does not produce uniformity. It produces a symphony. Every instrument playing fully, distinctly, at the frequency it was actually built for. Connected not through dependency but through the recognition that we are all part of something larger than any one of us.
True oneness empowers the individual. False oneness controls them. The difference is sovereignty. The upgrade I am describing leaves yours fully intact.
“You do not lose yourself in real oneness. You find yourself more completely because you finally see what you are connected to.”
What This World Actually Looks Like
The world I am describing is not a world without problems. Not without friction or loss or the full spectrum of human experience including the difficult parts. Creation and destruction are the same force moving in different directions. A life lived from the God Self honors both.
What changes is the operating frequency underneath all of it. Right now most human beings, and most human systems, operate from a base frequency of scarcity, separation, and fear. Not because this is human nature. Because this is the code we were installed with. And code, unlike nature, can be rewritten.
When enough people start living from their God Self, from the version of them that knows abundance is the nature of reality, that knows the divine is in here not out there, that knows another person’s elevation does not threaten their own, everything built on top of that frequency shifts too. Not through force. Through the way a room shifts when someone fully present walks into it.
A world where people operate from purpose instead of programming. Where the systems serve human consciousness instead of suppressing it. Where every person knows in their body, not just their theology, that the divine is not out there waiting to be earned. It is in here. Running right now. And where that knowing changes how they treat every person they encounter, because they can feel the God Self running in them too.
“People treat people how they believe God treats them. Whatever you believe about God, you become. For better and for worse.”
Sit with that for a moment. Really sit with it.
If you believe God is judgmental, keeping score, loving conditionally, requiring performance before granting access, you will mirror that. You will judge. You will withhold. You will build systems that make people earn what should be freely given. The institutions you trust will be hierarchical, gatekept, and conditional. Because that is the God you believe in. And you treat people how you believe God treats you.
If you believe God is indifferent, a watchmaker who built the clock and walked away, you will build systems that are efficient and cold. Systems that process human beings as inputs and outputs without accounting for the soul inside the productivity. You will call it optimization. You will call it progress. You will wonder privately why none of it feels like enough.
And if you believe, really believe in your body and not just your Sunday morning theology, that God is love, is abundance, is the creative intelligence breathing through everything alive and expressing itself uniquely through every conscious being. That the divine is not separate from you but is the most fundamental thing you are. That you are a child of the universe in the way that a wave is a child of the ocean, made of it, an expression of it, exactly as powerful as it when it remembers what it is.
If you really believe that, you become that. You treat people from that. You build from that. And the world that gets built looks nothing like the world we currently have.
That world is possible. Your God Self already knows the way there.
Part Two: The Systems Running Old Code
Why the Problem Is Never the People
Here is the thing I want you to understand about the systems. The thing that took me the longest to understand and that changed everything when I finally did:
The systems are not the enemy. And the people running them are not the enemy. The people running the systems are as suppressed by the systems as the people the systems are supposed to serve. The CEO of the pharmaceutical company is running old code. The politician who wrote the education policy is running old code. The banker who designed the debt instrument is running old code. The pastor who told you God was somewhere above you, requiring your submission before granting access to what you needed, running old code. None of them sat down and decided to build a world that keeps human beings operating at a fraction of their potential. They built what the code told them to build. They ran the program they were installed with.
The problem is not the people. The problem is the code. And old code can be upgraded.
This is not naive. I am an engineer. I understand how systems work, how they were designed, what they optimize for, how they maintain themselves, how they adapt to pressure. I am not asking you to love the systems or to pretend they have not caused real harm. They have. Real people have been hurt by institutions running old code. Real potential has been suppressed. Real lives have been diminished.
I am asking you to understand something more useful than outrage: the systems are running your code too. The same fear frequency that built the institutions is the one running in your nervous system when you reach for your phone before you have even gotten out of bed. The same scarcity consciousness that designed the debt system is the one that tells you there is not enough time, enough money, enough love, enough of you. The same external authority program that built the church hierarchy is the one that makes you look outward for permission before you trust what you already know inside.
The revolution begins in the body. In the code running underneath the behavior. In the moment you decide, consciously and deliberately, to upgrade.
“The systems do not just run out there. They run in here. The upgrade does not start with the institution. It starts with the individual. You. Right now. In this breath.”
The Seven Systems and the Upgrade Available in Each
Every major system structuring modern human life was built from a genuine need. The need for meaning, for resources, for knowledge, for healing, for connection, for order, for understanding. None of them are inherently corrupt. All of them, over time, drifted from serving the need to serving themselves. From empowering people to managing them.
Here are the seven systems running old code right now and the upgrade available in each. Not through dismantling. Through enough people inside each system choosing to run a different frequency.
SYSTEM 01
Religion and Spirituality
OLD CODE:
God is out there. Separate from you. You are fundamentally sinful, insufficient, and require an institution’s mediation to access what you are looking for. The divine is earned, not inherent.
UPGRADE:
The divine is not out there. It is the most fundamental thing you are. You do not need an intermediary. The kingdom is within. Always was. The upgrade is direct experience, in your own body, on your own terms, in your own daily practice.
The tragedy of institutionalized religion is not that it pointed toward the divine. It is that it pointed in the wrong direction. Every genuine spiritual teacher said the same thing in different languages: it is within. The institution built around the teaching reversed the direction. Pointed up and out, toward a God who lived somewhere else and required your performance before granting access.
The upgrade is not leaving religion. It is recovering what the teaching was actually pointing toward. The direct, embodied, unmediated experience of the divine that lives in you and has always lived in you. The breath is the door. The body is the temple. And no institution gets to tell you that you need permission to enter what you already are.
SYSTEM 02
Banking and Finance
OLD CODE:
Resources are scarce. You do not have enough. You owe more than you will ever repay. Your value is measurable in what you produce and consume. Abundance is a reward for the exceptional, not a birthright of the conscious.
UPGRADE:
Abundance is the nature of a universe that has been creating without interruption since the beginning of time. Scarcity is a belief installed in a consciousness that has forgotten what it is. The upgrade is operating from creative abundance, not as a financial strategy but as a frequency state.
I lost 60 pounds. I left a six-figure engineering career. I read 63 books in one year. I wrote four books in two years. I built a business. I am telling you this not to impress you but to tell you what every one of those things had in common.
They became possible the moment I stopped operating from scarcity consciousness. Not when I got more money. When I stopped believing at the frequency level that there was not enough. Enough time. Enough capacity. Enough of me. The resources followed the frequency shift, not the other way around. You cannot build an abundant life from a scarcity mindset any more than you can grow a garden in concrete. The upgrade begins with the belief. The resources follow.
SYSTEM 03
Education
OLD CODE:
Knowledge lives outside you. Authority lives outside you. Your natural mind is probably disordered in some way that needs correcting. Conform to advance. External credential equals internal worth.
UPGRADE:
The sovereign mind, curious, associative, expansive, and alive, is not a disorder. It is the most advanced consciousness available. The upgrade is education that activates what is already in a student instead of replacing it with what the system needs from them.
I was not a good student in the conventional sense. I was someone who needed to understand why before I could care about how. I needed the meaning before I could engage with the mechanics. The system did not have a category for that. It had a category for compliance and a category for remediation.
What I know now is that the hunger for meaning, the refusal to engage with information that has no connection to anything real, is not a learning disability. It is the most intelligent response available to a conscious being asked to download content without context. The upgrade is education that starts with why. That treats every student as a sovereign mind with something to offer rather than an empty container to fill.
SYSTEM 04
Medicine and Health
OLD CODE:
The body is a machine that breaks. Consciousness is a byproduct of chemistry. Sensitivity, emotional intensity, and spiritual experience are symptoms to be managed. Your inner experience is less reliable than external diagnosis.
UPGRADE:
The body is a frequency instrument. Consciousness is primary, not secondary. The upgrade is medicine that integrates the physical, the emotional, the energetic, and the spiritual. It treats the whole being instead of the symptom and recognizes awakening as health rather than pathology.
There is a specific kind of experience that the medical system, as currently coded, has no category for. The experience of your nervous system activating in ways that go beyond what is comfortable. The sudden knowing that arrives without explanation. The grief that moves through the body like a physical thing and leaves you reorganized. The moments of joy so complete they break open the ordinary experience of being alive.
The old code calls these symptoms. The upgrade recognizes them for what they often actually are: a body coming alive. A consciousness moving past the ceiling the old programming installed. The upgrade is not the rejection of medicine. It is medicine that knows the difference between a mind breaking down and a mind breaking through. That distinction saves lives.
SYSTEM 05
Media and Information
OLD CODE:
Your attention is a product to be harvested. Fear generates engagement. Outrage generates clicks. The algorithm does not care what it does to your nervous system. It cares what it does to your screen time. You are not the customer. You are the inventory.
UPGRADE:
Your attention is the most powerful creative instrument you possess. Where you place it consistently is what your life becomes. The upgrade is sovereign attention, the deliberate choice of what you feed your mind, your nervous system, and your creative frequency.
The average person in the modern world consumes somewhere between six and ten hours of media per day. Most of it algorithmically selected to maximize emotional arousal, specifically fear arousal, outrage arousal, and anxiety arousal, because these generate the fastest and most reliable engagement responses.
That is not a neutral fact about entertainment preferences. That is your nervous system being tuned, daily, to a frequency that makes creative abundance impossible. You cannot operate from love and scarcity simultaneously. You cannot hold a vision for your life while your system is running threat response twelve times an hour. The upgrade is sovereignty over attention. The recognition that what you consistently feed your mind is the raw material your life is built from.
SYSTEM 06
Governance and Social Order
OLD CODE:
Order requires control. Control requires hierarchy. Hierarchy requires that most people accept their position in it. The system protects you from chaos and the chaos is always just outside, just one deviation from compliance away.
UPGRADE:
True order emerges from conscious beings who experience their connection to each other. Not enforced but generated. The upgrade is governance that serves human sovereignty rather than managing it. Communities that create safety through genuine connection rather than fear of consequence.
I grew up in a community where the relationship between the people and the systems of order was defined entirely by fear. Fear of the consequences of deviation. Fear of the authority that enforced compliance. And I watched what that did to the people around me, not just the ones who ran into the system directly, but everyone. The internalized surveillance. The self-censorship. The particular exhaustion of always performing the version of yourself that is least likely to be perceived as threatening.
The upgrade is not the absence of structure. It is structure that emerges from the inside rather than being imposed from the outside. Community as a genuine frequency network, where the safety comes from the quality of the connection, not the severity of the consequence. Where people choose coherence because they feel their belonging to something larger than themselves.
SYSTEM 07
Science and Knowledge
OLD CODE:
Consciousness is a byproduct of matter. The soul does not exist as anything more than a metaphor. The universe is mechanical and indifferent. Subjective experience is irrelevant data. If it cannot be measured, it is not real.
UPGRADE:
Consciousness is primary. The universe is not mechanical. It is responsive. Intention is a physical force. Love is a measurable field effect. The upgrade is science that has the courage to follow its own data wherever it leads, including into the territory the old framework declared off-limits.
I have an engineering background. I respect the scientific method. I am not asking science to become mysticism. I am asking science to be what it has always claimed to be: the honest investigation of reality based on evidence, wherever that evidence leads.
Quantum mechanics has been telling us for a century that the observer affects the observed, that consciousness is not separate from the physical reality it perceives but participates in it. The data on meditation, on intention, on the measurable effects of human consciousness on biological and physical systems is robust and has been reproducible for decades. The old code says this cannot be what it looks like. The upgrade says: follow the data. That is what we said science was for.
Part Three: Your God Self Is Already Running
Seven Ways to Tune Into What Was Always There
Here is what I want you to understand before anything else:
You do not need to build your God Self. You do not need to earn it, achieve it, or wait for it. It is not a destination. It is not a reward for sufficient spiritual effort. It is who you already are, underneath the programming, underneath the performance, underneath the version of yourself that was constructed by every system, relationship, and experience that told you who you were supposed to be.
The work is not creation. The work is remembering. The practices below are not techniques for becoming something you are not. They are tuning practices. Daily ways of cutting through the noise long enough to feel what has been running in you your whole life. The signal does not need you to build it. It needs you to stop drowning it out long enough to hear it.
One person living from their God Self changes every room they enter. Not through force. Through presence. That is how the world we want gets built. One tuned-in person at a time. Starting with you.
THE SEVEN TUNING PRACTICES
01 SHU: The Breath Practice
Once daily, take one real breath. Not a performed breath. A breath that goes all the way down, past the chest, past the diaphragm, into the quiet place where you actually live. Hold it. Feel what is there. This is not a breathing exercise. This is the most direct access point to your own frequency available in a human body. The breath is the door. It is always open.
02 MEDU: The Voice Practice
Say something true today. Not something appropriate or strategic or managed. Something true. To someone who matters. In the full frequency of what you actually feel. Your voice operating at full truth is a frequency instrument. Most people have never heard what they actually sound like. The practice is permission to let what is real in you be audible.
03 MAAT: The Focus Practice
Choose one thing today and give it your full, undivided, sovereign attention for thirty minutes. Not managed attention. Real attention. No phone. No split screen. No part of your mind somewhere else. Sovereign focus is the rarest and most powerful resource in the modern world. Everything you genuinely want to create requires it.
04 KA: The Imagination Practice
Spend ten minutes today with the version of your life that is possible. Not the version the old code tells you is realistic. The version your actual creative intelligence can see. Not fantasy but vision. Fantasy escapes the present. Vision builds from it. Then build one thing today, however small, in its direction.
05 SEKHEM: The Energy Practice
Check in with your body today before you check in with your phone. Before the schedule, before the news, before anyone else’s frequency enters your field, feel where you are. What is the quality of your own energy right now? Not what you think it should be. What it actually is. The body knows things the mind manages. The practice is learning to listen to it.
06 HERU: The Community Practice
Find or create one space in your life where the armor comes off. Where you are not performing competence or confidence or togetherness. Where what is real in you gets to be witnessed by people who can hold it. This is not vulnerability as a trend. This is community as a frequency amplifier. The signal in you is stronger when it resonates with the signal in others who are also tuned in.
07 AUSET: The Love Practice
Today, treat one person as if they are an expression of the same consciousness you are. Not as a concept but as a lived experience. See the God Self in them the way you are beginning to see it in yourself. Not because they earned it. Because it is there. Because it has always been there. And how you treat them is how you believe God treats you. So treat them accordingly.
Part Four: The Engineer Who Became Something Else
Why I Know This Is True
I want to tell you my story. Not because it is special, but because it is the story of what happens when an ordinary person running old code decides, one day, to ask the question the code was never designed to answer.
I graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. I got the job at Texas Instruments. I made the money. I had the career that made sense to everyone who knew me and that felt, from the inside, like wearing someone else’s life. I was good at it. Competent. Credentialed. Running the program.
And then I quit. Not because I had a plan. Because I had a question. The question was simple and it had been getting louder for years. I had been answering it with achievements and I had run out of achievements that could answer it. The question was: is this actually my life?
In the year that followed, I lost 60 pounds. I read 63 books. I wrote four books in two years. I built a business. I became, in ways I am still understanding, the person who was always underneath the engineer. The one the code had been running on top of.
I am not telling you to quit your job. I am telling you what I learned on the other side of the question. The power was never in the career. The power was never in the credentials. The power was never in the performance of the life someone else designed for me. The power was always in me. Running underneath all of it. Waiting for me to get quiet enough to feel it.
I call myself a Soul Engineer now. Because that is the most accurate description of what I actually do. I take the same analytical intelligence that chemical engineering required and I apply it to the most complex system there is: a human being trying to remember what they actually are and build a life from that.
That is what DivineX is. That is what this paper is. That is what all of the work I do, the coaching, the content, the courses, the community, the book I am writing, is pointed toward. Not self-help. Not spirituality as a hobby. A genuine, practical, replicable system for upgrading the code you are running so that the life you build from it is actually yours.
“When you really want something, the universe conspires to make it happen. All you have to do is work. Not the work the old code assigned you. The work you were actually built for.”
Part Five: The Call to Build It Together
Each One Teach One
The world we want does not get built by one person. It gets built by individuals, one at a time, in ordinary moments, in the specific daily choice to live from their God Self instead of the code the world installed.
But those individuals do not work alone. When you start living from your God Self, really living from it and not just performing it, the people around you start to feel something shift. Not because you preached at them. Because presence is contagious in a way that argument never is. Because your God Self recognizes their God Self. And that recognition creates a space where their own remembering becomes possible.
Each one teach one. That was always the principle. Not the exceptional teaching the ordinary. Every person who remembers what they are creates conditions for someone else to remember too. Through the quality of attention they bring. Through the circles they build. Through the conversations they make possible. Through the spaces where other people’s borrowed coats can finally come off.
That is the revolution. A frequency spreading through human contact. One person living from their God Self, changing the room they are in. The next person in that room going home slightly more themselves. Slightly less willing to keep executing someone else’s blueprint.
You do not need a movement. You need one real breath.
Taken all the way down. Into the quiet place where your God Self lives.
Feel what is there.
That is the version of you that was never broken.
It has been waiting your whole life for you to come home to it.
“Unleash the God Within. Not as a concept. As a daily practice. As a way of being in every room you enter. Be the SOULution to your own problems and watch what happens to the world around you when you do.”
About the Author
Jadeverett Mayhorn is the founder and CEO of DivineX, a digital marketing, spiritual education, and business automation company built on the premise that consciousness is the most powerful technology available to a human being.
A Chemical Engineer by training and a Soul Engineer by calling, Jay left a six-figure career at Texas Instruments after asking a question the career could not answer. In the years since, he has lost 60 pounds, read over 63 books in a single year, written four books, and built a company that serves purpose-driven entrepreneurs and conscious leaders who are done running old code and ready to build from their actual power.
He is also the creator of KHA: The Forgotten Divinity, a multiversal consciousness mythology written as an anime-style novel series, currently in development. KHA is the story of seven ordinary people on seven continents who tune into the frequency that was always running in them and what happens to the world around them when they do.
Jay lives in Houston, Texas. He is a Prince Hall Mason, a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, a plant-based eater, a trader, a father, and a man who has built his entire life on one belief: the divine is not out there. It is in here. And every human being on this planet has access to it right now.
He is also known as The Smoothie God. Which is a whole other conversation.
